As it is with any subject, perhaps more so with Literature, a teacher of English Literature has to be passionate about the subject of study. Research, notes and updating your study about commentary and criticism of the text are essential.
Engaging the attention of the students and inspiring them to read the works in the original, and also the suggested study material, is the real challenge in today’s world. If the teacher is into a little bit of storytelling, theater, drama and performing arts, that would be wonderful.
